The town of Comox is
situated on the dry east coast of Vancouver Island in the Comox
Valley. The town, and her companion city of Courtenay, are a
three-hour (220 km/137 mile) drive on highway #19 north from
Victoria or a 75-minute (107 km/66 mile) drive from Nanaimo, where
the ferry terminals of Departure Bay and Duke Point are located.
There is also a slower but more scenic Oceanside Route on the old
Island Highway #19A.
Comox / Courtenay can be accessed from the mainland of BC, The
USA and other parts of Vancouver Island by car,
ferry,
train,
motorcoach
and air.
Note: If you are entering Canada from another country be

North from Nanaimo or Victoria on Highway 19 and South from
Port Hardy / Campbell River
Exit highway 19 at the Comox, Courtenay, Cumberland exit.
Follow the road to the intersection at Cliffe Avenue and take a
left. Turn right at 17th street and once you are over the bridge,
turn right on Comox Ave. Follow Comox Ave. into town until you
reach Church Street, turn left on Church and follow it until
Church ends at Yew Court.
If you are entering our area from the old Island Highway ( 19A )
then turn right at 17th St and follow the directions above
OOPS! If you are driving
from Victoria and find yourself driving through a large stand of
huge ancient trees you are in Cathedral Grove and have taken a
wrong left turn near Parksville. Now that you are here, spend some
time and marvel at the 800 year old Douglas Fir. Then head back to
highway 19 and continue north ( or as the locals say "Up
Island" ) |

From Comox / Powell River Ferry:
Exit ferry on Ellinor Road which merges with Anderton Road.
Follow Anderton 5km to the lights on Guthrie road, turn left. Turn
right on Nootka Street, just past the dairy farm, and take the
second right on Capilano Street. Follow Capilano around to the
left and it becomes Haida Street.Take the first right off Haida -
we are three houses up on the right.
From Comox Airport:
From the Comox airport turn right on Knight Road. Continue to
Pritchard Road - turn left. Turn right on Guthrie to Nootka and
turn left. On Nootka Street, take the second right on Capilano
Street. Follow Capilano around to the left and it becomes Haida
Street.Take the first right off Haida - we are three houses up on
the right. |
